These are the five words we are going to learn today.

abhor

Examples:

imperative

adjective

It means very important, urgent, or absolutely necessary.

Examples:

  1. Honesty is imperative in building strong friendships.
  2. It is imperative to arrive on time for a job interview.

laudable

/ˈlɑː.də.bəl/

adjective

It means deserving praise or admiration. It’s used for good actions, efforts, or intentions — even if the result isn’t perfect.

Examples:

  1. Her laudable efforts to help the poor inspired the whole community
  2. His honesty in admitting the mistake was laudable.

misconstrue

/ˌmɪs.kənˈstruː/

verb

It means to misunderstand or interpret something the wrong way.

Examples:

  1. Please don’t misconstrue my silence as anger; I’m just tired.

  2. She misconstrued his kindness as romantic interest.

relinquish

/rɪˈlɪŋ.kwɪʃ/

verb

To give up something (like power, control, or a possession), often unwillingly or with difficulty.

Examples:
